Paris Fashion Week is like the holy grail to follow for the year for all the fashionistas out there. It is a true showcase of talent and an extraordinary artistic viewpoint on designer wear. We often tend to overlook men's fashion, and today we are here to change that and make way for men's wear. In this blog, you can find all you need to know about the Paris Fashion Week Men's 2022 calendar: who, where, when.

The Paris Fashion Week Men's happens twice a year. One is the spring/summer edition, and the other is the autumn/winter collection. First, let us focus on the autumn/ winter collection.

Autumn/ Winter Collection:

These shows often happen during January and sometimes go on until March. In this season, there are plans to have over 17 physical shows, 29 physical presentations, and lastly, to keep up with the changing times, 30 online shows. These numbers may change depending on the planning and the current circumstances.

There is said to be a wide showcase of upcoming brands this time. Apart from that, several known brands will also be presented, such as Dior, Rick Ownes, Y/Project, etc.

March 3rd, 2022

Paris Fashion Week Men's

On the third day we have Comperni, Anne Isabella, Gauchere, Paul Smith, Cholé, Minuit, Uma Wang, Ludovic De Saint Sernin, Lecavalier, Rick Owens, Heliot Emil, and Isabel Marant.

March 4th, 2022

You have brands like Alexandre Vauthier, Leonard Paris, Loewe, Issey Miyake, Christian Wijnants, Nina Ricci, Jitrois, Sheltersuit, Andrew GN, Lutz Huelle, Yohji Yamamoto, VTMNTS, and lastly, Marine Serre.

Some of the most common themes that we could see in this year's fashion week are that "wearable art" showcases the mixture of modern artistic views and their influences on our clothes.

A noticeable trend that is followed even by the commoners is the baggy-clothes trend. You can find millennials wearing baggy on baggy, in the sense they choose a baggy top to go with a wide bottom. This is much different from what we were used to in the previous years, as we often paired a baggy item, either a top or bottom, with a tight-fitted item.

Another trend to note is layering. Designers are creating different pieces that can be layered on top of each other to create a complex and artistically elevated look. From those days when we only accessories our clothes with jewellery, people now are using other clothing articles to accessorise the whole look. This could be through layering different tops, bottoms, jewellery, etc.

No more clashing colours, only monochrome! Designers have chosen monochromatic models to create simple yet complex clothing. The art of wearing monochromatic colours is not easy to pull off. You need to understand the depth of each colour and layer it perfectly on top of each other.

Some famous luxury brands such as Hermes have used supple leather and cashmere to complement the clothing. This creates the epitome of luxury and a revival of dandyism. The intertwining of femininity with masculinity with the designer bags captures the fluidity of the clothing and breaks the rules.

However, some designers like Kanye West took a similar route, chose the minimalist way, and used the concept of “less is more”.

Some good fits for this year would be a tailored suit, bold accessories like snakeskin or floral patterns, a statement piece, etc.
